Sri Lanka has been, for decades, dealing with intertecine disputes between the population of Sinhala and Tamil.
The island country has experienced the upheaval of the Civil War for almost 40 years now – the majority of Sinhala against the Tamil ethnic population.
Almost since his independence in 1948, Sri Lanka had to deal with demands for the Tamil state separate in the north of the island, where the majority population was Tamil.
One decrease in repression is the creation of terrorist groups, Tiger Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and its leader V Prabhakaran.
LTTE uses terror tactics to hit back in Sinhala, often choosing the government’s target to destroy.
Until the early 1980s, a lot of violence was directed at the property – Sinhala destroyed the Tamil property, LTTE responded in the same way.
