New Delhi: Comprehensive plans have been prepared by the Delhi government to protect homeless people from cold.
With dipping temperature, Delhi’s urban repair board (Dusib), which runs 206 houses with a capacity of 7,092 people, has prepared a winter action plan.
An additional 250 temporary houses will be arranged before December 1 to meet 2,000 more people in high concentration areas because the amount of homelessness increases during the winter.
The government also provides food three times a day for them.
Of the 206 residence houses, 81 operations in the RCC building and 111 in Porta Cabins throughout the year.
The winter action plan will remain operative from November 7 to March 15.
“During the winter, the role of housing housing is important to save the lives of the homelessness of a cold.
The 2021-22 action plan will be implemented to ensure a comfortable residence for all homeless this season,” said Bipin Rai from Dusib.
Overall, 16 teams have formed to save homeless people who lie on the roadside or open the room starting at 10pm to 4 in the morning every day.
“Every rescue team will be equipped with one vehicle, driver, and two officers.
After receiving information from the Dusib control room or other sources, the team will pick up homeless people from the location identified and bring it to the nearest shelter or hospital,” said Rai.
The centralized control room has been made functional in Punarwas Bhavan, IP Estate to monitor and help the rescue team.
This can receive complaints and 24×7 information through special assistance channels, cellular applications and other sources.

People can also provide information about the Dusib mobile application, “Rain Basera”, or by giving a missed call at 8826400500.
“Everyone who finds the homeless people on the roadside can only click photos and send them to the central control room.
People Homeless will be located through GPS and the team will be informed to save it, “Rai said.
Dusib senior officials will lead to monitoring systems to ensure better inter-departmental coordination to ensure the civil facilities needed to homeless people at home.
The monitoring committee appointed by the Supreme Court led by the Chairperson of Ramesh Negi will examine the progress of the shelter by holding a regular meeting with stakeholders.
The sanctuary will have durries, mattresses, sheets, pillows, and blankets, lockers to keep items, electricity, drinking water, toilets, bath facilities, television and hot water.
Each shelter will have a caregiver working in an eight-hour shift.
The sanctuary for women will have a female security guard in each shift.
The government has also planned awareness campaigns about residence and facilities available in it.
