How Delhi Pragati Maidan Tunnel is a work of art

New Delhi: The longest Delhi tunnel, part of the integrated transit corridor that runs under the Pragati Maidan, gives a glimpse into Indian culture.
When walking through the tunnel, TOI found that 90% of construction had been completed and almost all artwork on the wall was finished.
The streets began near the Indian national sports club starting with the giant image of the national bird.
Peacock was painted on the wall there and leads to a decorated part with the pictures of the country’s main festivals.
There is Diwali, with DIYAS and crackers.
Then the Christmas came, described by a deer that pulled the carriage in the middle of the falling snowflake.
While running informatively, taking photos or recording videos is not permitted.
Awards for Lohri – a festival that is widely celebrated after a good harvest in North India – shows a campfire and dancing the people around it.
Not to eliminate other parts of the country, the section illustrates Onam, the Harvest Festival which is mainly celebrated in Kerala.
Durga Puja, a major festival in West Bengal and many celebrated in Delhi too, also exhibited through the image of Dewi Durga.
The wall part has a montage of a group of people who hold a long cloth in their hands.
This is closely describing the culture of ‘Chaddar’ offers at the Dargah Ajmer Sharif, Sufi Saint Minuddin Chishti’s tomb and a place of pilgrimage for centuries.
There is also a room featuring a swim worshiper in the ganga under a kind sun.
Every year, Lakh people attended Kumbh Mela at Uttar Pradesh, where it was believed that swimming in the holy river washing one of the sins.
Further down the tunnel is a segment dedicated to music.
Here tunnel users will find pictures of guitars and other modern musical instruments, even headphones.
The lamp installed on the tunnel roof illuminates the part while only giant fans periodically create ventilation.
This tunnel also has SOS points.
The possibility of these spots will also have a telephone booth for emergency use.
Nearly 700 people worked in the main tunnel in Pragati Maidan to complete the project at the end of February.
Unique tunnel artwork gives a true reflection of Delhi culture, where people from every part of the country live and contribute to the life and love of the city.
