Noida: Road Model, mentioned as the first country to be developed on the lines of bulevard in global megacities, will appear in Noida for the next two years.
4km-long stretch between captain Shashi Chowk and the intersection of the 51/71 sector will be pedestrian friendly and have features to encourage people to spend time out of their homes, officials said.
To be developed at a cost of Rs 12 Crore, the budget for the road was approved earlier this week.
The Chief Executive of the Noida Authority, Ritu Maheshwari, said the road would meet the needs of all types of users.
“Various capable, children and senior citizens will be able to use road models in a smooth manner as others,” he said.
Apart from the camera cover, the supervision system, and illuminated pedestrian crossing, the public address system will also be installed which will warn the driver who accelerates beyond boundaries and future pedestrians.
On each side of the road, ‘smart pole’ will be placed at a distance of 1 km.
This will act as a router through which all activities within 1 km radius will be controlled, according to officials.
Authority has hired consultants, Orionn architects, to prepare detailed project reports and road design earlier this year.
Neelima Sharma Sharma, the main architect at Orionn Architects, said that the best practices were followed in urban landscaping and road design in London, Singapore, Stockholm and Dubai were examined.
In the regular traffic signal, the aesthetic traffic signal will be installed and the LED light at the intersection will be synchronized to the traffic light and turns into red, blue and green accordingly.
“Smart systems are needed in Noida to attract investors and families to the city.
Noida will be the first city in this country to have a sophisticated system.
In addition to vehicle owners, the road model will be designed to welcome pedestrians, cyclists and public transportation.
This system will Smartly designed and will be based on IoT (Internet of Things), “said Rana.
Authority officials said that the process of supply and project implementation will take two years.
The width of the carriageway on each side of the 4 km stretch is 12 meters.
However, from the end to end (including the path, median, service path, green belt and ground setbacks under the control of authority), the total width of the stretch will rise to 60 meters.
The agency that carries out the project will develop alkways on both sides along with the cycle track.
More trees will be placed along with plants and islands with benches and statues will be arranged to make areas worth spending time, an official said.
All areas will offer internet connectivity to users.
