When Apple launched a silicon-based M1 processor itself for the MAC range of devices, it was Intel who felt the original heat.
However, it looks like other technological giants want to give apples to the money on the PC chip market.
According to a report by Verge, Qualcomm has announced that it works on arm-based processors for Windows PCs that will take Apple M1-powered devices.
Qualcomm has spent $ 1.4 billion earlier this year to acquire Nuvia, a company founded by three former Apple engineers.
Three Apple engineers are reported to work on the A-Series processors found on the iPhone and iPad.
CEO of Nuvia Gerard Williams left Apple in 2019 under a rather messy condition.
Apple demanded and alleged that he had underestimated Apple employees and exploited Apple technology.
Williams replied Apple and said Apple had tracked the text message illegally.
The lawsuit is still ongoing but Qualcomm’s announcement can bring back to focus on it.
As far as the newly announced processor, Qualcomm said that this new chip “was designed to set performance benchmarks for Windows PCs”.
The company also said that looking at sustainable performance and battery life on a Windows PC with a new chip.
Qualcomm clarifies that the chip will be a M-Series competitive solution for Windows PC.
Qualcomm also revealed that the nuvia-designed chip will be available on laptops and computers in 2023.
It will not be the first time Qualcomm has raved in the PC chip because it has partnered with Microsoft on several surface device processors.
Qualcomm is a big player in the smartphone chipset room and whether the former Apple engineer can help solve the PC market that still has to be seen.
