How Gurgaon makes the way safer

Gurgaon: National Highway Authority (NHAI) and traffic police have conducted a detailed survey to assess pedestrian movements in Rajiv Chowk and determine how to make stretches safer for them.
In Hero Honda Chowk, the traffic signal has been installed to adjust the speed of traffic, which will not only make it easier for congestion but also allows the passage to be safe to the commuter on foot.
These steps have been made to reduce accidents in large black spots in the city based on the recommendation of the district road safety committee, which holds meetings in the city on Friday.
The meeting was led by Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg, where he took work stock carried out by NHAI, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), Department of Public Works (PWD) and other institutions.
“The meeting was held to review the work of the institution in improving road design problems in the main fields.
The main idea is to ensure pedestrian safety and minimize road accidents.
At the next meeting, we will review work done on the recommendations carried out on Friday, “He said.
“Nhai, the traffic police and road safety officers have recently conducted a detailed study of Rajiv Chowk to find out the weakness of road design in the area.
We found that some conflict points made crossing the road with risky affairs.
To fix it, we have prepared a design The pedestrian intersection that will be implemented there.
Traffic police will immediately share it with Nhai, “street safety officers for the problem.
The panel also discussed the problem of road safety in large black spots, including IFFCO Chowk, Shankar Chowk, Khandsa Chowk and Atul Kataria Chowk at Old Delhi Road.

He also directed NHAI to review the design of the Shankar Chowk road and planned a plan to make it pedestrian friendly.
For Atul Kataria Chowk, Garg directs GMDA and PWD to install barricades, reflector tapes, and signage to prevent unwanted accidents because of the ongoing construction work on stretching.
The committee has identified Khandsa Chowk as one of the pain points for pedestrians and also areas that see many accidents, especially in the dark.
Based on the recommendations of the committee in the past, NHAI has built a feet (FOB) in the area.
“Nhai has been asked to do the earliest FOB operations because it is one of the busiest intersections in the city and does not have other pedestrian crossings.
It is very common to see their median climbing and negotiate busy traffic to get to the other side of the road,” said a person Official.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioners also reviewed the work of various institutions to reduce waterlogging during the rainy season.
