How is investor friendly is Kerala?

Kochi: For New Industry Minister P Rajeev, the existing work is not easy.
The aim is to take the Kerala from the 28th Index in the Easy Business Index (EODB-2019) into the top 10 in this country and begins when the ongoing Kitex makes an impact in mind.
Investors who have seen Kerala as industrial graves.
Nearly two weeks ago, when inaugurating the MSME forum from the Kerala Management Association, Rajeev said the government was trying to increase the country’s eODB rating.
“There is a core team who does it.
Our target is to reach the first position within five years,” he said.
Then, the Kitex problem kicks a storm in the media and social media.
However, there are ways to improve the country’s tarnished image.
India Industrial Confederation (CII) believes that Kerala can achieve its goals by taking a few cardinal steps.
“Kerala Government has implemented K-Swift (single online permit mechanism) and all high-ranking officials throughout the department knowing this system.
However, local level officers in the department, including LSGD, must be as good as the new system.
This can significantly increase the EODB.
The state, “said Chairman of the State Council of Kerala Kii CII Sreenath Wisnu.
He said the best way to create awareness among Panchayat-level officers is to form a system that is beneficial for each government itself, based on the number of jobs created and direct and indirect taxes produced by new companies there.
“This will produce healthy competition between Panchayats to help organize businesses in their area.” He added.
Considering geography, small and medium businesses are more suitable here, added Vishnu.
“Kerala has great potential in electronic products (including electronic chips) and food processing.
Maybe we get the best water quality in this country, making the best state of the food industry,” he said.
We have an e-commerce platform.
Fix by turning it into a fullfleded e-commerce portal, developed and managed by one of the leading technology companies.
Also, the government must assess the products offered on the platform, he added.
Setting up a logistical hub that can easily transport the product from Kerala is an urgent need, Wisnu said.
“At present, logistics costs carry trucks from Rajasthan are Rs 1 Lakh, which are high because they don’t get a cargo while returning.
So, we need a comprehensive logistics plan to take care of this.
We must provide focus on export too – so the availability of containers increases, costs Logistics in delivery will also go down, “he added.
Wisnu said the government made a decision after consultation with a trading body such as CII, FICCI or KCCI.
