New Delhi: The center on Tuesday announced the findings of the fourth Seroprevalence study conducted by the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR).
According to the survey, which also includes children over the age of 6, almost a third of the country’s population is still vulnerable to Covid-19 infection.
This is what the SERO ICMR survey was found: * Overall, 67.6% of the Indian population above 6 years was found to have SARS-COV-2 antibodies in the National Sero survey conducted in June-July.
* This is the first time children over six years are included in the sero prevalence study.
It was done in 70 districts.
* Seropositivity according to the age group …
– 6-9 years: 57.2% – 10-17 years: 61.6% – 18-44 years: 66.7% – 45-60 years: 77.6% * Survey Reveal that a third of the population, about 40 crores, still vulnerable to Covid-19 infection.
* 85 percent of health workers surveyed have antibodies against SARS-COV-2; One tenth of HCW was still not vaccinated.
* Surveys include 28,975 general populations and 7,252 health workers.
* Talking about this research, ICMR DG Balram Bhargava said that the 4th serosurvey implications clearly showed that there was a ray of hope.
“However, there is no room for satisfaction.
We must maintain the corresponding behavior of Covid & Community Engagement.
National Level Serosurvey is not a substitute for state / district level serosurvey.”
