New Delhi: The price of minimum support (MSP) in rice and wheat – two main plants obtained by the center of farmers – has increased by 25 percent and 16 percent in the past 5 years.
The farmers who protested since November 2020 demanded the law about MSP.
The center has agreed to establish a committee to study this problem.
In the written reply at Rajya Sabha, Minister of Agriculture and the Welfare Farmers Narendra Singh Tomar highlighted changes in the MSP value since 2017.
In accordance with the document, for the majority of plants, the MSP level has occurred around 2-5 percent every year in recent years.
Kuintal rice is used for RS 1,550 costs in 2017-18.
Over the years, the MSP level in this plant has soared to Rs 1,940 in 2021-22.
