New Delhi: Mumbai Soham Katkar Boy, who is a fan of music and drama, topped the joint entrance test (Cat 2021) with 100 percent, even when he enjoyed the series India vs New Zealand a few days before the examination.
Of the 1.92 lakh candidates, who appeared for the exam, nine candidates, including Soham, has scored 100 percent.
In an interview with Ivers, Soham talks about his preparation and how he topped the cat.

What is your reaction about knowing your score? A.
I’m happy with my score.
When the response sheet was issued, I am sure that I will get good value.
Estimated my score is 153 and I tried to find out whether there are other people who scored more than me in slot 1, but I did not find anyone.
I keep my fingers crossed and check percentile.

What is the total mark and the sectional you?
A.
The score was Varc 47.73, 53.06 Dilr, quants 58.35, a total of 159.13.
Percentile – VARC 99.33, Dilr 100, quants 99.99, Total 100.

When you start preparing for cats in 2021, how many hours do you use to learn?
A.
I have appeared in the exam Cats in 2020 as well and prepared for two-three months.
This time, I began preparations two weeks before the exam because I was busy with several projects.
I just need revision as I prepare for the exam last year.
Within two weeks of preparation, I used to solve a mock test two hours and used to analyze for 30 minutes to an hour.

Did you take coaching? What are the benefits?
A.
No, I have not.
But I have bought a mock test series of Times Institute.
I believe that the curriculum cat is not something we have learned as a general aptitude test and reason.
However, to solve the paper, know the essential pattern.
To score well, breaking a good mock test series is important.

How do you use to relieve stress during exams?
A.
I do not let myself get too stressed.

I am a computer engineer by profession and hail from Mumbai.
I love to play musical instruments, especially the flute.
I love to watch cricket and is a team member of our campus drama.

Why do you want to study MBA?
A.
I have read a lot about management studies and I think I have the skills necessary to learn it.
This course will help me achieve my goals.
My target is the top country –ahmedabad IIM, Bangalore and Kolkata.

A.
I do not have goals.
I am inspired by different people based on quality and their achievements and try to follow the lessons of their lives.

Do you have a message for prospective cat future?
A.
Believe in yourself.
Do not be afraid of failure.
When writing the exam, do not worry about running out of time.
Focus on accuracy rather than forcing yourself to solve the entire paper.
Better to write two accurate answer within four to five minutes rather than rushing and write one and two wrong answers.
