Ghaziabad: Farmers’ protest against the three agricultural laws ended, but movement throughout the year seemed to have provided encouragement to five other agents that occurred in Noida and Ghaziabad for the past few months over local problems.
The source said that after agitation around the Delhi border, which began in November last year, ended up by revoking the laws, groups of farmers who protested in other places had become more assertive in their demands.
Most of these farmers protest local problems such as compensation and land rights.
Over the past few weeks, the farmers who protested had binded their livestock outside the Noida Authority Office and locked the main gate, stopping employees from entry.
Some of them even started an unlimited hunger strike.
Protesters in Ghaziabad have also taken a similar step.
On November 24, Leader Union Bharatiya Kisan Tikait Rakesh, who pioneered agitation at the gate, met a group of farmers who demanded upgraded compensation for the land they had to offer for the Scheme of Bapudham Madhuban.
So far, these farmers protested in the village of Saparpur.
But a few weeks ago, about a thousand of them flocked to the Office of the Ghaziabad development authority and locked the main gate.
Employees remain locked in the office from 10 am until late at night.
An official agreed that farmers became more assertive with their demands.
“They are clearly inspired by agitation of three laws.
They now want their demands to meet at any cost,” the official said.
The farmers strongly agree.
Choudhary Dharmpal, a protester, ask, “What’s wrong with this new form of protest?” “We have demanded improved compensation for more than seven years now, but it didn’t work.
SUCCESSFORMENT During the three agricultural laws have taught us that we cannot give up like this.
We must be more assertive,” he added.
Off NH-9, another protest took place in Hi-Tech City, where farmers from 18 villages have demanded that land not obtained for the project was notified so that it could be used for other initiatives.
On December 20, farmers from the villages affected protested outside the GDA office and disrupted traffic.
No one is allowed to enter the office or leave the place.
Lokesh Nagar, a farmer who protested, said, “Many of us are part of the bracelet above the gate and we appear as winners.
We have realized that here too, we must suppress our demands for the government to hear us.
That’s what we do .
At least, we get attention to GDA.
After our previous protest, we have been called by GDA for talks on Thursday, “he added.
