With ATEEQ Shaikhhere is the status of various Metro lines that appear on the Metro MMR path that is being built along and the extent of the Mumbai Metropolitan (MMR) area is in various stages of completion, some are almost ready while some have a long way.
At present, there are 10 Metro projects in Mumbai, including the operational routes of Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar.
It took almost a decade for this line to operate.
On the other hand, after more than a decade, Navi Mumbai Line 1 between the bellapur and Pendrar was only 70 percent ready with a trial that had begun for a short distance of less than one kilometer.
“The project is carried out by City and the Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) have been submitted to Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MAHA METRO) for engineering assistance, operations and maintenance,” said Dr.
Sanjay Mukherjee, Deputy Chair and Managing Director, CidCo.
According to the statistics submitted to parliament, on June 30, 2021, Dumisa-D N Nagar Metro Line 2A is 95.10 percent ready, but the second phase and 2B – D n Nagar to Mankhurd is only 10.05 percent.
MMRDA plans to operate 2A, after ready.
Starting in May, trials have begun in line 2A and 7 (Eastern Dahisar to Andheri Timur).
MMRDA officials have convinced these two lines to fully operate for the public in October 2021.
Dahisar East to Andheri East Metro Corridor is 96 percent ready.
Although the work is being run by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) at the only sub-line of Mumbai – colaba-bandra-seepz, but the car depot from which service will start and end no place visible.
“The Maharashtra government has not yet decided on the location of the depot car, thus beating this route to an unlimited delay,” said an MMRC official asking for anonymity.
Construction work continues in the remaining Metro corridor 4, 5, 6 and 9 (7A) with several challenges and congestion has not been deleted.
These are four Metro Wadala-Ghatkopar-Thane-Rugidvadavali, Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan, Swami Samath Nagar (Lokhandwala) -Kurmarg and Dahecar Timur to Mira-Bhayander away from completion.
