How the probe collapse of the kite wall in Gurugram causes a scam buried a few feet below

Gurugram: Don’t look gift horse in the mouth.
But when you have paid Rs 7 Crore for a project, make sure you look deep you can, infrastructure officials in Gurugram learn in a difficult way.
The 200 meter-long sewer pipe at IFFCO Chowk should shift before the construction of jejuncur at the intersection.
Even though the pipes were never moved, the project contractor got RS 7 Crore for the work – payment that was said to be removed after the officer of the certified certified sub-division.
Working on the flyover project began in 2017 and was completed in 2019.
Payment was removed in 2019.
Now, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) blamed each other for hoses.
NHAI executes the RS 2,000 Crore project to build an underpass and flyover at IFFCO Chowk, the signature tower crosses and rajiv chowk to reduce the freeway Delhi-Gurugram.
Project execution also requires a shift in utility – sewerage, water pipeline, and stormwater waterways.
GMDA should state the completion of work related to utilities.
At IFFCO Chowk, the sewer pipe in question should shift from the main line to the green belt along the road.
The contractor was paid by Nhai after the SDO put his signature on the bill, Ti had studied.
This was revealed when GMDA began investigating the collapse of the retaining walls as last year after heavy rains.
GMDA senior official found that the sewer pipeline that runs under the flyover has never shifted even though Rs 7 Crore was paid to the project contractor for it.
Chief Engineer of GMDA Pradeep Kumar said it was the NHAI’s responsibility to check whether the work (utility shift) was finished before cleaning the bill.
“We checked with our officials and they denied after signing such letters.
The highway authorities should ask their officials about it.
We have written to them and now the ball is in their court,” he said.
On the other hand, NHAI has asked GMDA to carry out detailed investigations.
NHAI project director Nirman Jambulkar said, “The officer in question is not from my department and I cannot take action in this case.
The agency concerned must start an investigation.” Officials said that “now that the flyover project has been completed, there is no scope For utility shifts.
“Now, we strengthen the stretch (sewer) and connect it to a new line,” said Jambulkar.
A senior official, who did not want to be named, “A FIR must be asked and a special investigation team must be based on investigating fraud.
This is not only about financial unhappiness but also about compromising with the safety of the elevated project.
