to find out about Bhauroo’s presence, Kalyan sent a messenger to appoint.
Bhauroo immediately called him up.
During the meeting, Kalyan expressed concern over the division of caste on the reservation problem but Bhauroo asked him not to worry and urged him to start going around the country with Hindus.
“The more intense RAM temple movements, the lower will be the implication of the implementation of the Mandal report,” he believed he had told Kalyan.
The true ‘SwayamSewak’ of Kalyan is, he immediately started a quail tour in the state.
It was during Kalyan’s visit to Prayagraj (then Allahabad) that he was arrested on his way, so he became the first BJP leader who was detained to lead the RAM temple movement in the state.
Before the Spree tour, Kalyan was only the Lodh leader at BJP, taking another back castle politician, Mulayam Singhyadav, who then with Janata Dal.
While leading the Movement of the RAM Temple, Kalyan United, several smaller OBC castees such as binding, malls and Kashyaps and appeared as strong OBC leaders and BJP Hindutva poster boys.
Instead he was the only OBC leader at BJP at that time but the fact that he followed the direction of Sangh Formerary in the letter and the Spirit, he could unite some smaller non-Yadav OBC caste.
All of these casts were added to around 16-17% of the OBC population, more than one single OBC caste, both Yadavs or Kurmis.
The public address mainly focuses on uniting each caste for the country and on behalf of Lord RAM.
The message was successful for him and Kalyan became the leader of 16-17% OBC.
By doing that, he appeared as a poster Hindutva Boy and the only leader of the RAM temple movement in the state.
Before this, Kalyan was appointed as BJP President after the death of Madhav Prasad Tripathi, head of the founding party.
“However, Kalyan is known as Lodh’s leader at that time,” said Rajendra Tiwari, a man who was the Secretary of State during his tenure.
BJP has a poor presence at the Uttar Pradesh Assembly with only 11 MLA in 1980, 16 of 1985 and 57 in 1989.
However, he had received a Sobriquet from a formidable administrator when he became Minister of Health in the State of the Janata Party.
In 1977.
That was the time when the doctor posted in Lucknow was almost not transferred to another place.
Singh, as Minister of Health, a famous cardiologist from SC Rai to Kanpur from Lucknow.
Although there was a request from Nanaji Deshmukh and Rajendra Singh aka Rajju Bhaiyya, he refused to keep transferring Dr.
Rai.
Dr.
Rai was forced to finish one season at Kanpur before returning to Lucknow.
After his retirement, Dr Rai was chosen as Mayor of Lucknow on BJP tickets.
It was a picture of Kalyan which made him a leader with a difference and this paved the way for him to become the head of the BJP of the State in 1984.
“Kalyan has begun to establish himself as the OBC leader in 1986 and has emerged as one of the main leaders who took Mulayam Singhyadav,” said Senior Journalist Brijesh Shukla.
“After the RAM temple movement began, he became the Mascot Hindutva Sangh Parivar.
Kalyan’s Hindutva is incomplete without social justice,” Shukla said.
