HPU to arrange hi-tech classrooms

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) in Shimla will establish hi-tech virtual classrooms in each teaching department.

Sikander Kumar, Deputy Chancellor, also said the University will also provide laptops to all teachers to strengthen online education.
He said the tender for the same thing was invited.
According to him, the library digitalization work has been completed.
Prof.
Kumar said the university would provide Rs 50,000 to each teacher as a project fund to produce quality research work.
He said Grant of Rs 1 Lakh was also given to each department for academic activities.
He said a chair of the Supernumerary PhD in each department was intended for university teachers.
It is also the first that all departments have begun to publish research journals.
He said in a short time the last three years, 12 new teaching departments with innovative courses were introduced and recording 153 designated teachers.
The university has also taken many steps to produce quality research work.
The state government expanded all support in this effort, he added.
He said in 2019, four new departments began at the University Institute of Technology, including civil engineering, electricity, electronics & communication and science & humanities.
Defense Studies, Library Science (UG & PG), Environmental Sciences and Microbiology were introduced last year.
Four new departments, including data science and artificial intelligence, forensic science, archeology and ancient history and population studies began this year.
More than 80% = the syllabus of all subjects has been updated.
He added.
