Chandigarh: In significant development, the Haryana government on Friday officially began the process to attract police cases registered with farmers during farmers’ protests.
Sources say ACS Home Rajiv Arora has written to district judges throughout the state to provide full details of cases registered with farmers in their area since September 9, 2020.
According to information, there are more than 450 cases like that, which includes people vile, compound and non-compound properties, against farmers registered until November this year.
Some cases included people from murder, trying to kill, preventing the government’s servant to issue tasks, incitement, and under ACT Act.
In addition to finding detail, district judges have also been asked to comment on the status of the case such as whether the case is registered in the supreme section, cannot be swallowed and the process that must be followed for withdrawal.
Some cases can be withdrawn by following the process and with the trial court permit.
Meanwhile, cases that have non-shot and irreversible parts cannot be pulled until they are decided.
Replying to the question in the recently concluded winter session from the Assembly Haryana, Minister of Manohar’s Chairman Lal Khattar said that there were four cases of honesty crimes such as rape and murder, while in 178 cases, reports had been submitted in the trial court, 57 cases were missed and The police have so far prepared a cancellation report in eight cases.
“In addition, we have initiated the cancellation process in 69 more cases.
While cases are not in court, we have asked DC and SP to start the withdrawal process,” said a senior department of the house official.
Farmers have suspended protests after three agricultural laws were revoked in both parliamentary houses and agreed to return home after the government ensured to attract police cases, in addition to seeing other requests.
