Kolkata: 42-year-old defense personnel in Salt Lake were arrested for allegedly releasing his pet dog – an adult Rottweiler – in a neighbor in the middle of Tiff on Friday night.
Sumitesh Kennedy was arrested and had been sent to a long last of three days after the complaint submitted by the IC Block Resident Avinash Kumar, who received 20 injuries in hand and other body parts.
The dog was with the Kennedy family who left the Salt lake on Saturday and shifted to a relative home.
Kennedy’s wife was also injured while trying to control the dog.
The incident occurred in the quarter of the central government employee in the IC block when Kennedy allegedly took a battle with the President of the Housing Housing Association, Sunil Lal.
“Kennedy has a previous revenge and struggled at 11 o’clock at night.
I got there after receiving a call from Lal.
When we asked him to leave, he began to abuse us and instructed his dog to attack me,” Kumar said, a coast guard official and secretary association.
Bidhannagar South Police Station posted Kennedy under the IPC 308 section (an effort to commit a guilty murder), 326 (causing a sad pain) and 289 (negligent behavior in connection with animals).
Lawyer Kennedy Kaushik Das said: “There are no owners who can control animals.
The dog acts itself and my client does not order it to attack.”
