Coimbatore: The East All-Woman police on Sunday caught a 52-year-old man to attack sexual a five-year-old girl near Saravanampatti.
The defendant has been identified as Zahir Hussain, 52, from Saravanampatti.
He is a mechanic and lives in a rented house with his family.
The victim was neighbor.
On Friday night, Zahir saw the girl playing with friends outside her home.
He offered ice cream to the child and took him to his house and conducted sexual abuse, said a police officer.
A neighbor has recorded the incident and showed the video to the girl on Saturday.
The girl’s parents immediately approached the Saravanampatti police, which referred to this case to the Inspector of Police All-Woman East Dowrath Nisha.
He enrolled a case against Zahir Hussain under the 9 (L) section (M) (M) (sexual attacks that were exacerbated) and 10 (punishment for sexual violence that was exacerbated) of the protection of children of the acts of sexual violations (Pocso).
Zahir was arrested on Sunday morning.
The defendant was produced before the Special Court for Pocso cases and then sent in terms of justice.
He was put forward in Avinashi Sub-prison in Tirupur.
