New Delhi: A 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly robbing two employees from a businessman from Rs 50 Lakh at gunpoint, said the police on Tuesday.
Manpreet Saini, a resident of Delhi Karala, was involved earlier in more than 25 cases, including robbery and grabbing, they said.
Efforts to track two other colleagues involved in the latest robbery, police said.
The incident occurred in the West Nagar Nagar area Delhi on December 27 when Lucky Mehra and Harvinder Singh were sent by their employers for Vikas Puri Payment collected Rs 50 Lakh, police said.
After raising cash, they began the journey to their office with a scooter.
When they arrived at Nagar Flyover, two people with motorbikes were intercepted and tried to take their bags containing cash.
When the employee refused, the Duo was accused of firing two rounds in the air and struggled them with a helmet, police said.
The defendant also threatened them with a knife.
They took money and escaped the place, police said.
After the incident, the case was registered at the Police Station Tilak Nagar, they said.
Deputy Police Commissioner (North Outer) Brijendra Kumar Yadav said, “Our staff received user information about one of the defendants involved in the robbery case.
We formed a team and based on a tip-off, we found that the defendant changed their cellphone numbers often and used numbers International.
However, it is also changing repeatedly.
” The team focused on one of the defendants and technical search.
He was arrested from the sector-25 area in Rohini when he met a friend, the officer said.
Interrogation revealed that the defendant was arrested, along with his two Subhash and Pradeep colleagues, information obtained from one of the workers from employers that a large payment that would be accepted by employers from the Vikas Puri area, said DCP.
Thus, the defendant, along with his colleagues, made a recce from where the payment must be collected.
On the day of the incident, two colleagues from being arrested by the defendant went on a motorcycle and began to take part in employers’ employees from Vikas Puri, he said.
They rob them and fled the place, said Yadav.
A kilometer away, was arrested by the defendant waiting for them in the car.
His two colleagues left a motorcycle, which was stolen by them, and three escape places, police said.
Of the number of robbers, accusing receiving RS capturing 25,000 as payment of the section.
RS 10,000 has recovered from these payments, they said.
