Thiruvananthapuram: Cyber City Police have arrested a 30-year-old man with accusations to thin out money and gold ornaments from a woman he trapped through job advertisements placed on a classified website.
The police have identified the defendant as Sanith M Madavoorpara near Pallichal.
The police said that Sanith was arrested based on a complaint submitted by a woman who alleged that she lost gold ornaments with the severity of the trap.
According to his complaint, he contacted the defendant after coming across the job offering a job, which was placed in OLX.
Even though he offered a job at him, he asked him to wait when his office was undergoing a renovation job.
Gradually, he developed a relationship with women and asked for his help to do automation work in the office.
He agreed to give his ornaments because he had no money.
He told him that his agent would meet him to collect ornaments.
“The complainant has never met the defendant personally.
He uses photos of other people as display images on whatsapp.
He himself appeared before he pretended to be an agent and received ornaments.
He realized this fraud was far later, “said the Cyber City DSP T Syamlal.he station also allegedly trapped many other people using the same modus operandi.
The police said the defendant was the perpetrators of the habit desired by Magistrate Court Nedumangad after he escaped from Police detainees from the court place in 2017.
In 2019, he was ordered by the Museum Police for allegedly captivating a woman and raped it.
But, he managed to avoid capturing until now.
