New Delhi: A 22-year-old man was arrested while attracting Rs 10,000 cheating from an ATM in Delhi, police said on Sunday.
Police said Amit Kumar, a resident of Khyala in Delhi, will use his debit card and enter the amount for withdrawal at the ATM.
However, just before the note came out, he would put his finger on the money dispenser slot from the ATM machine.
Even though this will stop the sensor from work and do not record any transaction, the note will still come out, the police said.
Kumar then will raise money and leave the kiosk.
He will then call the bank care customer and claim the money again, confirms that transactions did not occur, police said.
“On the basis of CCTV footage, the guard at the bank in question captured Kumar on Friday when he pulled Rs 10,000 cheating.
The defendant had been arrested in this case,” said a senior police officer.
“We received information at the BK Road police station captured by someone facts about theft of cash at their ATMs,” said a senior police officer.
Registered cases based on complaints by the Bank Manager.
The manager also accused that RS 39,500 had been stolen earlier from the ATM through four suspicious transactions carried out by Kumar using the same modus operandi, police said.
Two debit cards and cash 10,520 were found from the defendant, police said.
