New Delhi: A man died after he was allegedly hit by a water tanker in the Southwest Sarojini Nagar Sarojini region on Friday, police said.
The Sarojini Nagar police station received information about accidents around 6.15 in the morning, they said.
The deceased was identified as Jai Parkash Bharti, a village of Pubanji who worked as a guardian with a private security agent in Vasant Vihar.
He was beaten by a water tanker near the Sarojini Nagar market.
The driver who was wrong escaped from the place in the vehicle, said a senior police officer.
Bharti rushed to the hospital, where the doctor said he died.
The case has been registered under the relevant legal provisions, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Gaurav Sharma.
Water tankers have been identified with CCTV recording assistance.
A police team had been sent to arrest the defendant, he said.
