Ahmedabad: Jay Patel’s sudden death, only 22, in Melbourne has left friends and his family very shaken.
While the family has not reconciled with the tragedy that occurred on Friday, Indian donors raise Rs 30 Lakh in a few hours to ensure Jay’s last trip back to Ahmedabad.
“We learned about his death on Friday afternoon from his friends in Melbourne.
It seems like he has a heart attack,” said Bipin Patel, his uncle who was a former member of the Board of Asarawa.
“We will find out the exact cause after the postmortem exam.
His body will contact us on December 16.” Jay’s father is an electrician in Ahmedabad.
Jay had gone to Melbourne two and a half years ago to pursue further studies after getting a Diploma in Engineering.
“Jay’s father was not rich.
His friends managed to collect Rs 11 Lakh in 45 minutes from the Indian community who responded quickly and generously,” said Bipin Patel.
“The fundraising process is stopped for some time.
Overall, around Rs 30 Lakh is raised, thanks to India that offers support in a difficult time.”
