New Delhi: A passenger who landed at Delhi Airport on Thursday from New York was arrested by CISF for allegedly bringing a bullet to live in his luggage, officials said.
They said that the man arrived from the US with Indian air flights which reached Indira Gandhi International Airport around midnight.
He then should take Indian water flights to Nagpur scheduled at 5:20 a.m., they said.
However, the Personnel of the Central Industry Security Force stopped it around 4am after they detected ammunition during its security check for domestic flights that connect, they said.
Because carrying arms and ammunition was banned on the plane without authorizing the government, passengers were not loaded and left to the local police who recorded them under the Act section, they said.
CISF was assigned to secure and provide contrapherrorist protection to IGI.
