Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram: Special screen specifically for sexual crimes here on Friday sentenced a man for 25 years in a rigorous prison on charges of rape of a 15-year-old girl.
Abdul Rahman, 24, Manikyavilakam near Beemapalli is a person who has received a sentence.
Judge R Jayakrishnan, who delivered the sentence, also imposed a RS 1 Lakh penalty in the culprit.
Failure to pay a penalty will produce an extension of a penalty for another year.
The number of penalties must be paid to the victim.
According to the Special Public Prosecutor R S Vijay Mohan, the crime occurred in 2018 when the victim was a class X student.
The culprit was the brother of the victim’s close friend.
In accordance with the allegations of prosecution, the perpetrator lured the girl into a relationship and made it sexually about the promise of marrying her.
“The culprit used to teach in local madrasas.
Because he enjoyed respect in the community because of his work, the girl believed her promise, “said the prosecutor.
But, then he broke up with him, returned from the wedding appointment.
After this, the girl went to her house and threatened to commit suicide.
This causes a commotion and thus this problem comes to public knowledge.
As a result, the police registered the Pocso case and arrested Abdul Rahman.
