Thiruvananthapuram: A man was sentenced to a strict prison by the court here on charges of trying to rape his 16-year-old neighbor’s daughter.
Santhosh aka Akkachi Santhosh, 35, from Valiyathura was a person who received a sentence, which was delivered on Monday by a fast fast track court in the city to handle sex and children’s crimes.
Special Public Prosecutor R S Vijay Mohan said that the incident was related to this case occurred on February 20, 2019.
Survivor in this case was the daughter of a fisherman.
Santhosh, who lives nearby, knows that the girl’s father will leave for fishing at the early hours of the day.
Therefore, he waited until his father left home and slipped home around 4am.
However, the girl and her sister shouted and raised the alarm after she escaped from home.
Judge R Jayakrishnan also argued that Santhosh had to pay the 10,000 Hospital penalty to the girl.
Failure to pay the amount will result in an extension of the sentence to nine more months.
