Vadodara: A man who posed as a police sub-inspector was arrested by the Taluka police on Friday because it struggled traders in Bhayli.
Siddharth Hirpara, who posed as a police officer, was ordered after his video struggled by Bhugesh Thakur into a viral.
The police said that Hirpara had gone to meet Thakur to recover the loan he had taken several years ago.
Thakur told the police that he took a loan from a man identified as Bhalal Pankaj in 2017 and then returned Rs 6.40 lakh, paid through a check.
After a few months, Hirpara approached Thakur for restoring the remaining contributions and the latter gave him Rs 20,000.
“Hirpara had even met Thakur at his home a few months ago to recover loans.
Thakur claimed that Hirpara introduced himself as a police officer and asked for the money,” the police said.
On Thursday, Hirpara went to Thakur’s apartment in Bhayli and waited for him all day.
When Thakur arrived at his home at night, Hirpara first entered the verbal argument with him.
Hirpara then struggled Thakur with a pipe.
A neighbor fired a video of the incident which later became a viral.
