Daltonganj: In the first in Jharkhand, a 51-year-old man identified as Raju Singh was given a Covid-19 vaccine for the third time on Saturday because of an error at the health center where he went to get an anti-rabies injection for dog bites.
The incident occurred in the Palamu district and a civil surgeon on Sunday ordered an investigation into the incident.
Singh is a tractor driver and the villagers of Naudeeha under the Block Paton, Dr.
Ameet Azad said, the medical officer responsible for the Public Health Center in Paton.
He admitted that Singh had received both covid vaccine doses but given the third dose in the anti-rabies vaccine place.
Singh has now received three covishield doses.
Reacting to the incident, Surgeon’s Civil District Anil Kumar said, “I have asked medical officers – responsible for the public health center in Paton to investigate how and why it happened.” The civil surgeon also said the OPD Singh paper clearly said the main complaint was dog bites.
However, he wondered why Singh’s personal vaccination data did not appear on the centralized portal.
“Is the history of its Jab reflected on the computer, this man will not be given a third shot,” he said.
The source said Singh used a telephone number of a village resident, Mithilesh Singh from Golna Village, on Saturday when taking OPD tickets and he had used another telephone number for two Covid Jabs before because the history of the vaccine did not appear on the portal.
.
Kumar said Singh was fine and hadn’t reported any bad impact like now.
“I have directed Dr.
Azad to save the tab close to Singh if he developed a problem.” On side effects or benefits from third jab, the district health department has not commented, saying that it monitors the situation.
