New Delhi: Timely Intervention by Delhi Police prevented a 42-year-old man commit suicide by jumping from Andrews Ganj Flyover here, officials said on Monday.
Initially it came from Almora in Uttarakhand, the man, which was a food delivery executive, has lived in Delhi for about four years, they said.
According to the police, he came to the flyover to try to commit suicide after consuming alcohol with a friend on Sunday night.
Around 6pm, when Kotla Mubarak Pur Station House Officer (Sho) Vinay Kumar Tyagi was patrolling the area, he received information that a man tried to jump from Andrews Ganj Flyover.
He immediately told local staff, a motorcycle patroll team and PCR staff.
When Sho Tyagi reached there with his team, they saw a man who tried to jump from the flyover.
The man stood near the iron fence and loudly said that he was “disappointed with his life” and “wanted to die”, said a senior police officer.
Sho mobilized police personnel near the flyover and another team with a net under sweetness when he himself tried to involve men in talks and convinced him about all assistance, said Atul Kumar Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).
Meanwhile, Sho signifies Vipul and Sub-Inspector’s Assistant Sub-Inspector to reach the person and he is saved for taking drastic steps, he said.
The man advised and then handed over to his acquaintances, the police said, added that his wife and two children lived with him in the Khel Gaon area in Hauz typical.
