Patna: The man, who monoplates the center of attention to inherit his property, some crores for his two pet elephants, were shot dead in Murgich Village under the Janipur Police Station in Phulwarisharif, Patna, on Wednesday.
Mohammad Akhtar Imam (55) has shifted two of his Tuskers – Rani and Moti – to Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand about two years ago because of their safety when he understood the threat to his life, said Janipur Sho Uttam Kumar.
Akhtar has passed 6.2 hectares of land in Murgiakak to his two elephants.
He had returned to Patna on Tuesday night after meeting Rani and Moti.
Akhtar’s body full of bullets was found lying in a pool of blood in a small forest that he specifically prepared for two iles in his property near his residence.
Police suspect the son of Akhtar Mohammad Mohamm involves the murder as before also trying to kill him to share on the property.
Raisher, a famous criminal, has lodged in Beur Jail since June 2019 after he shot a dead police in the Danapur court while trying to escape.
Akhtar is used to spend most of his time with two elephants since the age of 12 years, said Sho.
He was shot at least eight times on his neck, chest and stomach.
Sho said five empty cartridges were restored from the place.
Four to six criminals were rolled up in the murder, he was suspicious.
Phulwarishif Sdpo Maneesh Kumar Sinha said Akhtar was killed on a land dispute.
He said the police had learned that at least four to five criminals came to meet Akhtar and took him away signing an agreement to buy land.
“His son is the main suspect.
Some land mafia also wants to capture the Akhtar property.
Akhtar also has a land dispute with one of his relatives in Sultangj, Patna City,” he said.
“His son also got a case of fake rape registered by his girlfriend against Akhtar a few years ago,” he said.
“Akhtar was used to keep the village youth, Chandan, as his son and scored liked him too,” he said.
“According to Will Akhtar, his NGO, rehabilitation of Asian elephants and Wildlife Animal Trust (aerawat), will have properties transferred to elephants for their care if a mistake occurs.
