New York: The highlight of the US East Coast, including New York City, under Waspada Saturday, when Storm Henri was increased to what could be the first storm in 30 years to hit New England.
The fortune tellers of warning the wind with violence, heavy rainfall, the risk of flash floods and oceans soared when a bumpy storm in the Atlantic, packed a sustainable wind approaching 75 miles (120 kilometers) per hour.
The bad weather that preceded Henri forced New York City to stop the Central Park-studded concert which was billed as “homecoming” for a metropolis who was exposed to a pandemic.
The approaching storm has pushed New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to announce an emergency and spread of 500 national guard soldiers to anticipate response efforts.
“This is as serious as a heart attack,” he warned.
He said the storm was expected to land in Long Island, home to Hamptons Plush Village where new York people were rich in the summer, around noon (1600 GMT) on Sunday.
“This will be around 26 hours of events,” added Cuomo, told New York residents to expect “significant power outages” and “significant flooding” in several outskirts of Big Apple.
Henri was anticipated for Miss New York City with Miles, but it could still cause tropical storm conditions to begin Saturday night.
Some of the weather rolled during the concert at Central Park, and a announcer cut Barry Manilow mid-song to urge revelers to continue quickly but calmly at the nearest exit.
“I think security it makes sense.
I mean, I can hear thunder,” Maria Fuentes participants said.
The US National Storm Center warned “a surge in dangerous storms, storm conditions and floods” in the New England and Long Island regions, confirmed in advisors 11 nights (0300 GMT) that the storm continued to reap north with more than 20 mph.
.
National weather services say the end of Saturday Henri is expected to remain a category 1 storm on the mainland.
Henri is expected to produce three to six inches of rain (7.5 to 15 centimeters) in all regions, with a total maximum isolated close to 10 inches, NHC warns.
Heavy rain “can produce flash, urban and small river flow” and a river flood, he added.
Extreme weather events become more frequent because temperatures rise.
Officials in New England – which include Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont – have warned people to get ready.
“All residents are advised to start the storm preparation today, and to pay attention to local weather,” Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker said Friday.
The situation, which will close the park and the beach from Saturday to Monday, prepares for strong winds to knock down electricity to 300,000 locals, the governor’s office said.
If Henri still follows the current course and maintains strength, it will be the first storm directly about New England in 30 years.
“The last storm to make landing to New England was Bob storm in 1991,” said Dennis Suegen, a NHC spokesman, told AFP.
The storm killed at least 17 people.
It’s been almost a decade because of the severe weather threatened the area.
“The last time we had a storm watch that was released for the area was for Hurricane Irene, at the end of August 2011,” Tweeted The National Weather Service in New York City.
The last storm to make landing in Long Island was Gloria in 1985.
New York Beach was ordered to be closed to swim Sunday and Monday when officials warn strong winds and possibly storms, and flash floods on the road.
Warning has revived Hurricane Sandy’s memories, a stronger storm that destroyed power for most Manhattan and flooded the subway in 2012.
