Ludhiana: Five months after their marriage, workers and his wife allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from the ceiling fan in their rented accommodation in Bhagwant Vihar, Meharban, on Saturday.
The incident was revealed on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Akhilesh Kumar, 30, and Ritu, 28, both factory workers.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP-East) Davinder Chaudhary said, “When all the calls of the brothers and sisters were not answered, he went to the couple’s house and found them dead.
Ritu, the sister and her husband worked at the same factory.” ACP added, ” The couple married in June.
It was the second marriage of Akhilesh and Ritu.
The probe shows that Akhilesh is a difficult drinker and ritu will prevent him from drinking.
The neighbors told the police that the couple was used to fight almost every day.
Allegedly that on Saturday too, they struggled and then took extreme steps.
There were no self-suicides recovered from the place.
