Hyderabad: In an effort to facilitate traffic congestion and also help in the development of the area bordering Musi, the Telangana government has decided to build 15 bridges throughout the Musi and Esa rivers.
The City Administration Department has published Sanctions RS 545 Crore to Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) to build bridges.
The new bridge has been required because some have been built a few decades ago, such as in Moosaarambagh, cannot take traffic loads and in many places there is a need to have more bridges for better connectivity which will also reduce traffic on the main road .
“Given the growing population and the need for better road networks, detailed traffic studies are carried out to assess the location where additional bridges must be built throughout the Musi River.
Based on traffic studies and also with a view to strengthen some bridges, 15 bridges It has been proposed, “The Special City Administration Department of Special Secretary Arvind Kumar said on the way.
Officials said the city minister KT Rama Rao was interested in decongesting the main road and also developed a link in the city.
He has focused on the Musi rejuvenation project.
If the bridge is built and the Riverfront Musi project is completed, the area borders on Musi is expected to witness the development of large and property values expected to increase.
Some bridges are needed in locations that witness a large development such as a high-level bridge in Budvel (IT Park) and connect the road parallel to the ESA River, the new Link road to the village of Manchireveula, from the village of Manchirevula to Narsingi Village on the layout of the Sei Musi and UPPAL Bhagat Musi .
“In some places such as Chaderghat and Moosaarambagh, the bridge is low and flooded during heavy rain.
While in some places the government has proposed a bridge parallel to those who already exist like in Attapur,” said a senior official.
A few months ago, HRDCL has invited applications on design and has received 30 plans.
One design is reported to have been selected which will be used for all bridges.
“The bridge will have an inheritance and an iconic pedestrian bridge planned in Afzalgunj,” an official said.
