Hyderabad: The historic biot-ka-natural procession was taken out through the old city on the tenth opportunity of Moharrum (You town e-ashura) on Friday.
The tenth day of the Islamic Moon Moharrum marked the martyr of Imam Hussain, a grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, who was killed in Karbala in Iraq.
The procession began in the afternoon of Aunt-Alawa in Dabeerpura with Caparisised Elephant Madhuri, carrying historic aunts.
Nature (standard) dates back to the era of Qutub Shahi and contains a piece of wooden board where Fatima Zehra, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, was given the last ablution.
The main procession of aunt-ka-nature passes through Shaik Faiz Kaman, Etar Chowk, Charminar, Purani Haveli and Patherbatti.
It also passed various Ashoor Khanan as the Qadm-e-Rasool Alawa, Alawa Sartooq, Aza Khana Zehra and the Bait-ul-Qayam before culminating near the e-divine mosque in Chaderghat at night.
Police Commissioner Hyderabad Anjani Kumar along with other officials offering ‘dhattics’ to nature near Charminar.
“As usual, this year, the procession was taken in an organized manner,” said Hasanuddin Ajaz, The Mutawalli of Alawa.
District administration along with Hyderabad police made complex logistics and security settings to ensure that the procession went peacefully.
Traffic is also diverted in various parts of the city.
