HYD: bicycle riders return to track to provide medicines, important

Hyderabad: ‘Relief driver’ returns to its track, pedaling throughout the city to send drugs and important items to people under isolation and senior citizens who are trapped at home struggling to get something.
The cyclist group has begun to offer delivery services during the second wave when the state government has stated firmly complete.
They are connected with volunteers from Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Cyberabad.
Now, with the Covid-19 number soaring again, the group of cyclists has continued the service of two weeks back.
“We mostly deliver medicines and important items for senior citizens and those who are under insulation without support,” said Ravi Sambari, who started the initiative together with Santthana Selvan, ‘Bicycle Major’ Hyderabad.
The group receives nearly 20 requests every day, including from regions such as Gachibowli, Kondapur, Sainikpuri and Alwal.
“We have received requests from children who live in the US who are looking for drug delivery for their parents in Hyderabad.
We circulate this demand in the group and volunteer of our forward WhatsApp to be present for it,” Sambari said, which is the director at the company logistics.
“My mother was in oxygen and I really needed medicines for her.
That’s when one of my friends told me about ‘helpers’.
I approached them and one of them came to my door and sent medicines,” said Satayam, a student.
