Hyderabad: Sleuth Maya World Crime Rachakonda arrested a 26-year-old man to deceive people with guys redeeming credit card bonus points.
The defendant has been identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Geetanjali Park in West Sagarpur, Delhi.
According to the police, Deepak Kumar together with his colleagues, Mukesh, decided to get easy money by cheating credit card holders with the pretext of redeeming credit card points.
According to their plan, this duo bought details of credit card holders and obtain a SIM card along with a bank account in the names of various people through the agent.
Furthermore, the Duo began contacting a credit card holder posing as a bank executive that offered to help them in redeem bonus points.
“The defendant collected a credit card number, CVV and OTPS numbers from people who were easily fooled and transferred money to various e-wallet wallets and bank accounts,” said Cyber Crime Police Rachakonda.
A victim, satyanarayana, 53, from Sahara Estate, has lost Rs 93,772 and based on his complaint, a registered case below 417, 419, 420 of the IPC and Parts 66C & 66D from the IT Law.
The police arrested Deepak from Dehi on November 11 and after completing the legal formalities took him to the city and sent him back on Sunday.
