HYDERABAD: Cases of cyber fraudsters benefiting from this need for the medication for black disease and looting lakhs of rupees out of sufferers are allegedly getting common.
On May 25, Cyberabad police received a complaint from a resident of Gachibowli, that had been duped of Rs 8.
32 lakh, saying through online search, he discovered contact information from Emson Medical Stores by a site to buy injections to deal with black illness.
The complainant sent a message into the mobile phone number found online via WhatsApp enquiring about the availability of the medication along with the other man reacted promising him that the medication is going to be delivered via courier on receiving the advance fee.
The fraudster required Rs 8.
32 lakh to get 60 vials of their injection.
“Following the complainant moved the sum into the bank account cited by the accused, and there wasn’t any answer from the accused.
Upon mentioning that he had been scammed, the victim lodged a complaint,” Cyberabad authorities said.
Authorities advised people not to fall prey to fraudsters posting bogus medication supply ads on several social networking platforms.
