HYD Marathis keeps the tradition of living for years

Hyderabad: Marathi community, which began to settle in various parts of the country nearly 300 years ago, now six lakh-strong in Hyderabad.
From Tilak Jayanthi to Ganesh Chaturthi, Marathis continues to keep their traditions alive in the city through various social and cultural events.
Historical records show that some Marathi families have settled in areas such as Sultan Bazaar, Barkatpura, Kachiguda and Badi Chowdi more than 75 years ago.
The growth of IT and Pharma companies in the city has led to the migration of the younger generation from cities such as Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Osmanabad to mention a few.
“My family moved to Hyderabad from Kolhapur nearly 55 years ago.
Now, we celebrate every Marathi Festival with enthusiasm.
Exactly from Ganesh Chaturthi to Navratri, all our celebrations with the wider community,” said Anand Kulkarni, Vice President, Maharashtra Mandal, wrong One of the oldest marathi associations in Koti.
This year, Ganesh’s celebration at Maharashtra Mandal celebrated 75 years of Indian independence by giving spelling to the armed forces.
Throughout the year, several groups such as Kalabhishek Pariwar, Bhagini Mandal, Vimal Natya Samaj conducted various social-cultural events such as playing Marathi, in an effort to promote and maintain language and culture.
Having the influence of saints such as Sant Dnyaneshwar, Eknath, Tamaram, Ramdas, among others, a rich marathi culture revolves around stories and shooters around them.
“We hold a program called ‘Palak Aani Balak’ (parents and children) where children are taught everything about our culture including songs, music etc.
Apart from this, we have an initiative called ‘Sahitya Saurab’ on Where do we do programs around Literature and Marathi culture, “said Saroj Gharapurikar, a member of Kalabhishek Pariwar, who has played a role in doing some of these cultural programs.
Marathi cuisine during the celebration, especially Ganesh Chaturthi, consists of Puri Puran along with generous ghee portions, modest, eg, Poha, Zhunka grilled, Pithala Bhakar etc.
While Marathis from Konkan is mostly rice eaters, those from Vidarbha.
Regions prefer Rotis wheat, Jowar and Bajra.
