Hyderabad: Dirvenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI) Sleuths arrested a female vendor from Zambia who arrived at RGI airport through Doha, on Monday and seized heroin 3.2 kilos worth Rs 21 Crore.
Since June, Dri Sleuth has arrested four African vendors at the airport and seized 18 kilos of Heroin worth Rs 126 Crore.
Based on specific intelligence, the officer Dri intercepted a passenger of a woman from Zambia at the airport for early Monday.
The Dri team found 3.2 kilograms of off-white powder hidden in the luggage check-in.
Chemical analysis confirmed that it was heroin, said an official Dri.
The woman traveled from Zambia through Johannesburg and Doha with Qatar Airways flights.
The defendant was arrested under the provisions of drug narcotics and psychotropic substances (NDPS), 1985.
Official Dri said the latest arrest was similar to the three arrests made by Dri at the airport since June 202, producing a 15-kilogram of heroin seizures.
In June the third week, the team dri had arrested John Williams in Tanzania, when he arrived at RGI airport from Johannesburg through Doha, and found three kilograms of hidden heroin in a trolley bag at the bottom.
Likewise, in the first week, the team dri has confiscated 12 kg of heroin of two female vendors, who came from Uganda and Zambia.
