Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have solved fake certificates by arresting 10 people, including Assistant Professor Sarvepalli Radhakrishna University in Bhopal.
The police also won certificates issued by several universities in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in collusion with extortion here.
The investigator said that among the arrests were seven dropouts, who bought degrees certificates, and two educational consulting operators from the city.
D Sheshank, a Nishanth of Reddy, K Sai Krishna, V Vinay Kumar Reddy, B Anurag Reddy, S Yogananda and Mohammed Althashmuddin bought a certificate of BSC B.Tech and BSC (computer) by paying the number of RS 1.4 Lakh.
The police also began arresting parents of seven certificate buyers and compiled a special investigation team to investigate further into fraud.
Working on certain tin, the North Zone Task Team was first arrested by Maheshwar Rao, 45, who runs Pride Educonsultancy in Mehdipatnam.
“Maheshwar, in collusion with other defendants, has been supplying fake certificates of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan University, Bhopal, Swami Vivekanda University, Sagar, MP, Glocal University, Saharanpur, above, to students who fail or exit,” Commissioner Hyderabad CV Anand said.
Based on the confession of Maheshwar, the police team went to Bhopal and arrested Ketan Singh, 34, assistant professor in Srku who played a key role in supplying certificates.
“Ketan Singh claimed that he was a small fried and people from universities on it, including in the top position, all know about fraud.
He claimed to have saved only 10 percent of the number obtained from the client and gave a rest to other people on University, “Anand added.
The investigation also revealed that Maheshwar obtained a certificate for 29 students from SRKU.
“Through an agent identified as Prakash Saini, Maheshwar obtained 44 Swami Vivekanand University certificates and we confiscated 22 so far.
RAM Kumar Saharanpur is Maheshwar Associate in obtaining a Glocal University certificate and four such certificates seized,” said Commissioner.
“We have also confiscated 178 certificates of Madurai Kamaraj University and 23 Madras University certificates.
We have not received other details and sitting in a task force, DCP West and Joint CP East,” Anand said.
The unit task team also arrested Srikanth Reddy, the owner of the education consultation of Sri Sri in Dilsukhnagar, who in collusion with Ketan Singh, gave a certificate of BSC, BSC, and other level certificates by collecting a fixed amount.
“Srikanth Reddy contacted the family of students who came out of college or failed in a technical course to give them a degree certificate for money through telephoton callers,” Anand said.
The researchers will write to the UGC asking them to cancel the recognition of the degree certificate that publishes the university through fraud.
“We will begin to investigate the top people and we are investigating the role of six such consultations in the city,” Commissioner said.
