Hyderabad: Sir Ronald Ross Institute, Begumpet, Osmania University in relation to the Post Department released a special post cover in commemorating the discovery of malaria parasites by Nobel Laureate Ronald Ross, in Hyderabad on Friday.
While Ronald Ross worked as a medical officer of the general duty at the location of the Institute between 1895 and 1897 in Begumpet, he had found the presence of malaria parasites in the Gastrointestinal Mosquito Anopheles woman, in August 1897.
For his outstanding work in the demonstration of the life cycle of malaria parasites in mosquitoes , Ronald Ross was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1902.
Sir Ronald Ross Institute of Parasitology was a Malaria Research Institute founded in 1955.
