Hyderabad: The Sleuth Task Force from Hyderabad Police on Thursday arrested five people, including a BSF police officer, who was allegedly involved in printing and circulating a record of fake currencies worth Rs 16 Lakh.
The police said that Chukkapuram Santosh Kumar, Janaki Sai Kumar, a Dharmaji Neeraj Kumar student and Jaligam Raju and BSF Sunkarari Srinivas were arrested at Yousufguda.
According to the police, Santosh Kumar and his friend Sai, who is a photographer, hatched a plan to make money by producing a fake currency note from Rs 500 denominations and then circulating it.
For this task, the Duo repeatedly accused the accused of helping them circulate notes by offering a 10% commission.
The defendant is looking for people in need to whom they offer three fake records in exchange for original records.
The defendant made a fake note using a scanner-cum-color printer.
They made a fake note in Siddipet and then brought a note to Hyderabad.
“Santosh Kumar, a photographer, wants to open a large photo studio he needs for money.
Janaki Sai Kumar also faces financial problems.
Thus, the two defendants hatched plans to print and circulate fake Indian currencies,” Hyderabad police said.
