Hyderabad: Some residents who are influenced by mining mines and stone crusher units in the villages in and around Hyderabad have approached the national green court, looking for strict action on pollution units.
P Indira Reddy, an organic farmer and Amberpet village in Abdullapurmet Mandal, and Akiti Nikhil Kumar Reddy of Chinna Ravirala in Abdullapurmet filed a petition with NGT.
The applicant accused that illegal mining activities, massive blasting and rock destruction took place in Banda Ravirala’s revenue village, Chinna Ravirala and private Patta land in Deshmukhi Village in Abdullapurmet and Boodan Pochampally Mandal.
Indira Reddy accused two illegal mining rental holders spread to the land of the Patta and completely damaged seven hectares.
“I was running the center of Meditation and the Dewa Shiva Temple was built by my husband in 15 hectares of fertile agricultural land in Saddupalli Village in Abdullapurmet.
There are six rock crusher units, eight mining mines and 11 hot mixed plants around it,” he thought.
Nikhil Reddy said his farm was surrounded by four stone crusher units and six mining mines.
“Great mining, rock destruction, ready-to-use and hot mix plants have been going on for the past 15 years.
Because of noise, air pollution and vibration caused by blasting, local residents live in Banda Ravirala, Chinna Ravirala, Guvvaleti, Taramatipet, Saddupalli Village and Deshmukhi suffered greatly, “he said.
In addition to losing land planted because illegal mining, local residents face serious health problems such as throat infections, severe coughing and respiratory problems, he said.
Indira and Nikhil said pollution produced from mining, stretching stones and TAR and RCC mixing units caused health hazards for the local population.
Despite several complaints to the Telangana state pollution control Board, Rangitteddy Regency collectors and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Ministry of Mining and Income, there were no actions taken to stop illegal mining and pollution, accused the applicants.
