Hyderabad: 23 people, allegedly involved in online betting during the IPL 2021 cricket match, was arrested here, police said on Wednesday.
Based on information that bets were in seven places on Tuesday, the police called 23 cricket widows, said Police Commissioner Cyberabad M Stephen Raveendra.
The police said they had confiscated from the boards of gambling, laptops, cellphones, TVs, among others, truly worth Rs 2.21 Lakh, and Rs 93 Lakh Cash.
Maha, the main bookie of Andhra Pradesh, who fled, organized bets in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, said Commissioner.
