Hyderabad: Three puppies, thrown from the first floor of a campus building at Vidhya Nagar, got a second chance after locals came together to build an emergency shelter to protect them from heavy rain.
The incident was revealed after the locals, who witnessed the incident, called an animal activist to help save the remaining four dogs and dog mothers from facing the same fate.
“I immediately rushed to the place after I received a call from one of the residents who told me that unknown people threw puppies, one by one, from the first floor of the building.
As soon as I reached, I found the three puppies lie on the ground.
They did not suffer a big injury, but did not move because of shock, “said Prithvi Panneru, an animal activist.
“Mother’s dog might have brought puppies to the first floor of college to protect it from heavy rain.
He will never imagine that the puppies will be removed from the building,” Ti activist said.
A video distributed by animal activists showed the mother’s mother who tried to revive one of the puppies who were unconscious because of shock, after being removed from the building.
However, even after saving puppies, it takes locals and activists a little time and effort to find a safe place and build a shelter to keep the dogs safe from rain.
“We only want to build a small emergency shelter to keep the puppies and mothers safe at least until the rain falls.
When the College security personnel filed an objection, we decided to build it in front of my house which is about 600 meters from college,” said D Sindhuja, a resident of Vidhya Nagar.
