Hyderabad companies failed to provide 40 e-buses to NMC

Nagpur: Evey Trans Pvt Ltd., a company based in Hyderabad, has failed to provide 40 e-buses to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Monday.
“The company states that it will not be able to send a bus at once.
Already seeking an extension of a wise delivery schedule,” said a senior official from the NMC transportation department.
“Senior representatives from the manufacturing unit in Hyderabad have been looking for time to meet Commissioner of Radhakrishnan B on November 18th.
They will propose a plan to send a bus in a wise manner,” the official said.
Under phase-II fame (faster adoption and manufacture of hybrid and electrical vehicles), the central government has provided RS 18 crore sanctions for NMC to get 40 e-buses.
Recently, the NMC has given an ultimatum to the company to provide 40 electric buses on November 15 or will start collecting a fine of 0.1% per day on the number of guarantees of its performance.
“After a meeting with a civil head, we will decide our actions in the future, whether to give more time or to start reducing the fine of the number of performance guarantees,” officially added.
Local representatives from the company told TI that pandemic-induced locking had a big impact on the production of bus-e.
Pre-lockdown, the company used to produce 12 e-buses per day.
This figure has now dropped to 4.
Lockdown also affects the availability of spare parts needed for electronic bus making.
In addition, the availability of labor is another major factor that affects the production of e-buses, the company’s source said.
With this status, the company cannot provide 40 e-buses at once.
The source said the company was burdened with orders to provide 1,400 e-bus throughout India.
With the current status of manufacturing 4 e-bus per day, the company will need 400 days to fulfill its commitment, the source said.
The official said that the company was looking for time to deliver 40 e-buses between December and 2022.
However, he showed that the NMC could not provide additional time and then explain that the 170 bus JNNURM must be removed February due to the end of their lifetime.
For a query, the official said that three red bus operators had to replace this bus with a new fleet, NMC could not take risks.
“We are looking for free shipping than 40 e-buses,” he said.
