Hyderabad: dirt, apathy apathy in the old city

Hyderabad: The overflow of waterways and garbage piles in many parts of the old city are annoying residents.
Residents say that despite complaints to officials, garbage has not been lifted and the water channel still overflows.
Likewise, Himmatpura, Aliah Kotla, the area of ​​Shahalibanda and Khilwat have turned into a breed for mosquitoes and wild animals.
Because of this, residents and commuters face difficulties.
Apart from this, the increasing case of viral fever and dengue fever has added to the misery of the population.
Locals complain that an unhealthy environment affects the health of children and parents.
A resident of the Old City, Mohammed Anwar, told TI that the official apapthy even though several complaints affected the health of the population.
“The government has announced events such as Sunday-Funday in Charminar but the authorities must once visit the area and see how people are forced to live in this dirty atmosphere.
Because of this, the health of children and elders is being affected,” Anwar said.
Highlighting the unhealthy atmosphere that applies and the negligence of the authorities, the Telangana Party of Telugu Desam (TTDP) has urged the GHMC commissioner and the mayor to see this problem.
“Himmatpura residents face a lot of problems because the garbage piles turn into a breeding place for mosquitoes and wild animals.
The problem was taken with officials but nothing was done,” Mohammed Ahmed, GHMC, a minority vice president, TTDP told Tii.
Surya Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, GHMC, Charminar said that because this was a celebration season, many employees were not present and the problem would be overcome soon.
