Hyderabad: Chairman of the larger Hyderabad cultural heritage (GHHC) DS Lokesh Kumar on Tuesday directing the inheritance department, Telangana to send a proposal to eliminate encroachment near the protected monument in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area.
At the first meeting of the committee, which was held in his room, Kumar, Commissioner of GHMC, also directed the inheritance department to send proposals to take forest permits, continued to work, landscaping, and maintenance of 25 monuments protected by 25 departments.
The Telangana Government has passed the ACT 22 of 2017 (action to provide conservation, preservation, restoration, and maintenance of inherited and intangible heritage from Telangana).
Four years later, in August 2021, the country issued government orders for the Constitution of the Committee at the State Level – the authority of the State of Telangana – as well as the Regency and Regional Heritage Committee in each region except the GHMC or HMDA region.
GHHC will function for the GHMC or HMDA area.
Along with Kumar, L Sharman, district collectors or members, Hyderabad; Pecu Prasad, DCP, Central Zone (representing police commissioners, Hyderabad); M Venkatesharulu, DCP, Cyberabad zone (representing the Police Commissioner, Cyberabad); D Ramulu rises, deputy director, the inheritance department or organizer of members of the committee, and the other many participated in the meeting.
The inheritance committee has a key role to be played in protection and decision making about the legacy and heritage sites built.
India has 40 world heritage, cultural and natural sites.
Ramappa Temple is Telananga’s first world heritage site.
After Ramappa, Telangana eyeing the UNESCO tag for the pillar Thousand Temple in Warangal, Sammakka Sarakka (Tribal Festival) in Mulitu, Pillala Marri (more than 700 years Banyan Tree) in Mahabubnagar, Fort Warangal, Mutyala Dhara Waterfall in Jayashankar Bhupalapally from Golconda and Charminar .
