Hyderabad: Four people, who were allegedly organized the cricket bet on Friday night when the Indian Premier League (IPL) match was lined up after the attack at home in Afzalgunj.
The Afzalgunjus police said that the main organizers, Maya Chadrakanth, and three associates-cum-punters – V Shashank, Rajneesh Kumar, Pavan Agarwal – were arrested and from their Rs 2.03 lakh cash and four cellphones.
Maya Chandrakanth allegedly organized bets through different websites by sharing usernames and passengers to passengers after raising money.
The organizers have collected commissions on the number of agents.
Apart from the cricket bet, the defendant also arranged online playing cards.
Even if a passenger wins bet, he must pay a commission to the organizer.
Cricket betting transactions are being carried out online.
The police said that Pavan Agarwal, who was one of the Associates which was allegedly involved in a criminal case in the past.
All the defendants were arrested by Tutk Force Sleuth and they were handed over to the Afzalgunj police.
