Hyderabad: ‘Lion’ of Villains Ajit Centenary Birth Today

Hyderabad: Film fans and city heritage activists are ready to mark a hundred birth legendary Bollywood criminals Ajit on Thursday.
Hamid Ali Khan, better known as the screen Ajit, was born on January 27, 1922, in Golconda in Hyderabad.
He may be the first actor from Hyderabad to rule Bollywood as his favorite criminal, usually as a boss that is perfected and speaks softly with a strong one-liner.
Some other actors remember like Ajit for the delivery of the dialogue in the famous bariton.
Deccan Heritage Trust manages Trustee and Historian Dr.
Mohammad Safiullah has formed a hundred-year celebration committee with Shahid Ali Khan, the son of the legendary actor, Jayesh Ranjan, Senior IAS Officer, M Veda Kumar from Deccan Heritage Academy and Zakir Hussain, education.
The celebration will begin after offering prayers at his tomb at the Jamali Kunta cemetery near Golconda between 12:30 a.m.
and at 1:30 a.m.
on Thursday.

Safiullah demanded that the road stand out in the city was named after the actor.
The son of actor Shahid Ali told TII that ‘Ajit The Lion, a biography, has also been published to mark the Centenary gap.
“This is a pleasant story that reveals some aspects of life, which is generally unknown to fans.
It also provides insight into how a middle-class boy from Hyderabad achieves success by overcoming several obstacles and difficulties in life with perseverance, dedication and commitment,” he said.
Zakir Hussain said the ajit dialogue was impressive across generation and they were repeated even now.
“Smart Boy, Mona Darling, Sara Shaher Mujhe Lion to Naam Se Jaanta Hai, Michael, Tum Cycle Par Jao is some unforgettable dialogue in Bollywood’s history,” he said, adding that Ajit might have died on October 22, 1998, but his character Continue to inspire one and all.
Dr Safi said after the initial education in Hyderabad and Warangal, Ajit went to Bombay (Mumbai) in the early 1940s to pursue a career in acting.
He got a break in 1946 as a hero in the Shah-e-Misr film.
He has acted around 200 films including Nastik, Halapak, Guest House, Mughal-e-Azam, Naya Recycling, Anand Mutt and Bada Bhai.
He turned to the role of criminals with Suraj film and had never looked back with his unparalleled performance in Zanjeer, KaliCharan, Yaadon Ki Baaaat, Ram Balram, Dharma and Barood.
